Uncommon Gear Raja Pack Review - YEAH!

Uncommon Gear Raja Pack Review - YEAH!

Our friend Jade over at Uncommon Gear put the Guatemala 1 Raja Pack to the test and man, were we excited to read her review! Here's an excerpt from her write-up:

What is it about this company that makes it stand out from the others? Everything.

Let's start with the bag itself though. The Raja is my favorite 'everyday' bag I've ever owned. Ever. I chose this pack because of its ability to be an every day backpack, and a pack I can take for an overnight hike or to the mountain for snowboarding. I've found it has the ability to multitask!

So cool that Jade has found her Raja to be the perfect everyday companion for her many adventures! Read on...

Here are some more down-n-dirty details from Jade's Raja Pack review:

I honestly have no idea where to start to tell you how awesome this pack is. I suppose I could start by telling you how much room is actually in it. It doesn’t look huge but wow, this thing has a lot of room. Part of its roomy nature is due to the massive roll-top it has. If you are totally stuffed to the brim you don’t actually have to roll it down at all, and there is a strap that goes over everything to hold it down.  If you are less stuffed it rolls down neatly and can be cinched with the tough buckle and strap.

Part of it’s ability to hold so much in the main compartment comes from the padded computer compartment on the back of the bag which is big enough for a 15in computer, I’ve managed a computer and a book, 8 beers, and a camelbak bladder; on separate occasions of course! There are also two awesome side pockets. One opens directly into the large compartment, and has an outside pocket for a water bottle, and the other side is a separate semi padded pocket that is great for cell phones, wallets, iPods, and small stuff, as well as an outside water bottle pocket too. Oh, did I also mention the entire bag is water-resistant 840 denier ballistic nylon?

And guess what?! Just when you thought it couldn't get any better, Jade has discovered a little hidden functionality gem in our THREADs - SO rad!

The outside of this bag is amazingly unique because not only is the awesome THREAD interchangeable, that THREAD can be used to hold a snowboard while hiking in the backcountry. Yea. No kidding. During every day life the THREAD is attached by snaps and velcro, but all you have to do is snap the panel down over the snowboard and bam, backcountry pack.
